The she-cat sat back down close to Foxstar. "I am Kin," the she-cat answered. The hot sun bore down on them and he noticed her tail going side to side from the heat. Foxstar's tail was scorching hot considering how thick and bushy it is. He tried swaying it side to side but it did little of cooling it down. Foxstar turned his head away from Kin and stared at his tail thinking that it might actually be on fire.
Though his ginger coat lit brightly from the sunlight and looked as if his pelt is on fire or is fire. Some cats thought he was a descendent of Firestar because of this but he highly doubt that. Not like it really matters anyway.
Foxstar turned his head back to Kin when he felt her move closer. When he turned his head his nose was only a tail length from hers. "You are the leader of your Clan, are you not?" she asked softly. Foxstar caught the rougher tone in her voice probably due to the heat.
He blinked. Moved his head slightly away and grinned. "Maybe, maybe not," he said teasingly. Foxstar stood up and walked away, out of the sun. "I don't know about you but I'm hot," Foxstar looked back to Kin and moved his head back invitingly. After all, if he stayed in this ridiculous heat his tail will be burnt to a crisp.
Again, he is thankful he isn't WindClan. He sat down and curled his bushy tail around his paws. The heat coming off from his tail burned his paws. It was so hot that he couldn't keep the tail right to his paws. He lifted it up and started waving it again to cool it down faster. As he waved it, he glanced slightly to Kin then turned his eyes back on his tail a heartbeat later. A thought back, of how close she was to him that her scent washed all over him and even though her voice was rough it still sounded nice.
Foxstar's eyes narrowed and he waved his tail harder, feeling strangely hotter even though he is out of the sun. He wondered why he even thought about it.WORDS. 370 OOC. Hehe THEME. Forever Can Be~ Ashes Divide

Foxstar blinked and drew back from Kin slightly. A flash of amusement ran through her, halted just before it glimmered in her eyes. "Maybe, maybe not." He padded away from her, into the shadows of his territory. "I don't know about you but I'm hot."
"Being hot was what got us here," the tiny she-cat reminded him. He imitated her tail-movement, glancing between her and his tail, as though uncertain as to why it hadn't spontaneously erupted with flames.
The tilt of the red Clan leader's head suggested he wanted to move back to his camp. Officially out of her depth, Kin was willing to do as instructed. She had a very keen sense of survival, and it would not be tempered by any emotions she felt. Survival came before all else for the black rogue, and if she needed to submit to a cat much larger and stronger than her to achieve that goal, then so be it.
There were worse cats to be submissive to.
Kin blinked in surprise. She had no clue where that thought came from, and immediately buried it. It had no relevance to the events going on presently. A teasing gleam entered her orange eyes, and Kin rose to pad to Foxstar's side. "If you are so very overheated, I can guarantee you your healer would order you out of the sun or into the water." The she-cat peered over his shoulder, pretending to look for his camp. "You'd likely be ordered back home," she commented.
Something that never failed to amuse her was the fact that, no matter how powerful, any cat could be ordered around effortlessly by a healer. If they resisted, they could be threatened with discontinuation of services, the true consequences of their actions, or even consequences they couldn't know were false.
Some cats sought power through ruling or cruelty.
Kin found it in the herbs that were the trick and tool of her trade.
Who needed a band of followers when the whole world would submit themselves to you, willingly?

"Being hot was what got us here," Kin reminded him as he sat down in the shade and waving his tail to cool it down.
Foxstar glanced at her again as she padded over. "Actually, if I'm not mistaken its what got you here not me," he corrected, smirking. The only reason he was out here is because he couldn't sleep regardless of the border patrolling and hunting last night. He came out here to do some hunting and to try and exhaust himself a bit so he could go to sleep. Then he came across this cat. So no, nothing about the sun's heat brought him here.
As she padded over to him Foxstar noticed there was a mischievous gleam in her orange optics. Foxstar turned his eyes away from his tail that has begun to cool down and gazed at the she-cat as she sat down beside him. "If you are so very overheated, I can guarantee you your healer would order you out of the sun or into the water." She mewed peering over her shoulder and looking into the forest. It looked like she was trying to look for the camp but he had a feeling she was only pretending. Foxstar turned his head away, rolled his eyes and shook his head slightly. "You'd likely be ordered back home," Kin commented.
Foxstar finally stopped waving his tail about and set neatly over his paws. It was still hot but not as bad as before. He noticed some twigs and debris tangled in his thick coated tail. Foxstar bent down and started to groom his tail. He usually washes his tail four to five times a day. The tom takes pride in having his tail looking so much like a fox. It's why his parents named him Foxkit and when he became a warrior his leader named him Foxtail. Foxstar thought about his rogue mother and what she had called him when he first saw her. He remembered she even called him Fox because of his reddish ginger coat and tail.
"Most likely they will lock me in my den," Foxstar purred in amusement. "I can just imagine my deputy assigning warriors to guard my den to make sure I don't leave." Foxstar's purring started to quiet as he looked out at the river. A few heartbeats later he looked at Kin again. "You know, I'm sure you will like the Clan after all we do most of our duties at night," he pointed out gently.WORDS. 419 OOC. There we go, sorry for the wait. THEME. Forever Can Be~ Ashes Divide

"Actually, if I'm not mistaken its what got you here not me," the red tom corrected her. Kin ignored his comment, uncaring as to what he thought brought him there. She'd come because of the heat, and he'd come to the river, specifically, because of her. If she hadn't decided to cool herself with ShadowClan's waters, Foxstar would likely just be grumping through his territory stalking after little tadpoles.
Foxstar stopped waving his tail around and glanced down at it before replying to her tease about healers. "Most likely they will lock me in my den. I can just imagine my deputy assigning warriors to guard my den to make sure I don't leave. You know, I'm sure you will like the Clan after all we do most of our duties at night."
The somewhat abrupt change of topic threw Kin off, and she almost blinked in surprise. Why would he assume that she'd like the Clan just because they operated at night. Kin appreciated the daytime, and enjoyed it as much as any sane cat. There was nothing she liked better in leafbare than finding a large, dark stone in a sunny spot and just soaking up the light. Heavenly.
"The night and day each serve their own purpose," she mewed quietly. Quiet. That trait seemed to be popping up an unusual amount around Foxstar. Normally Kin spoke at a confident volume, altering the pitch and tone of her voice to suit the circumstances. Now, though, her voice seemed to be out of her control, reflecting a sliver of her true emotions.
"I would like to see the place I must now call home," Kin meowed, her volume rising to its usual level. The word home tasted strange in her mouth; she had a den, certainly, and herb stores, but never a home.
