Damon was failing. And he knew it. Just as before, this large shepherd would try again and again to enter, but he couldn’t. No, more like, he wouldn'’t. Several yards away from Damon’s stream where he
currently got his water from, there lay an empty,
dirty office-sort of building that had been there for
a while now. He finally entered.
The house was completely empty, gray with dust and mold. Cobwebs loomed overhead, brushing lightly across Damon’s pointed ears. Damon shuddered, he disliked this, hated actually. This
house was trash, nasty and disgusting. Any other
guy would have thought it was ‘cool’, or ‘radical.’
Not Damon. Even though he appeared rough and
bad to the bone, the inside was quite different. He
just needed that someone. Well…to, straighten him
out.
As he entered the main part of the building, which appeared to have been the social area, because of its size and the lingering smell of alcohol and food.
Letting his curiosity have the better of him, Damon
quickly padded near a corner of the room, which
smelled extremely strong for an old house. Never
the less, he continued over, then, dropped his head
down to sniff the remains. It smelled as if…if… .No!
“What the heLL?” Damon managed, gasping and
jumping back.
It was the scent of another dog! And it was a female! Stunned and angry, Damon set off through
the house, his claws making the ‘click, click. click’
on the bare floor. Eagerly he trotted all over the house, until one room, a very small one, was left
to investigate. Carefully and quietly, Damon
opened the door with his nose, and a burst of
smells overcame him. Food…dog…scared…and
finally, blood. Hoping for the best, the German
shepherd opened the door with a creek, afraid to
look.
There in front of him, shivering with fear, laid a
small Border collie, about his age. Instantly the
smell of blood was turned into her scent, a familiar,
hovering scent. Shocked at his find, Damon
starred at the female, wondering how long she was
lying here. He slowly approached her,
ears perked forward, showing his was not a
threat…yet.

After Damons little 'experience' with the female, he now had a partner in his little "claiming" this house. The barn beside the masion was a stalky, little room that had been abandon for years. The small agile border collie followed Damon on her skinny little legs, padding quietly along beside him. Damon narrowed his eyes as he circled the place, leaving his scent markers everywhere he went, making sure no other dogs were going to challenge his leadership. The border collie's presence was uplifting to this Shepherd, and liked having her around. Damon finished his rounds and sighed, lifting his nose in the air, making sure no one was present at the time. He smirked, lifting his eye brow as he sat with his new found companion.
Paradise Hills...yes...yes that's what this new territory would be.
